So close to the fire
that fear of getting burnt
surrenders, changes
into fear of joy.
Confused ramblings
of a screaming mind
clarify demons into sulky sleep,
as we wander
into deeper knowledge.
I think he feels
what I though he did.
Am I the fool
to believe the impossible,
or merely the dreamer
set free with hope.
Touching the flame
leaves stains of joy,
spreading heat - awakening
the coldest heart.
And as for me?
I surrender
to the small vain hope
that within this pyre
I'll breathe again.

Absolutely amazing poem. Wroth with deep feeling and conveyed so beautifully. Your hope of breathing again is realized in the words you penned here, you just need to recognize it. A 10 my good friend. Stone
Some serious thoughts concealed within these lines! Ten does not do this one justice.
