Temptation Poem by Wayne Falconer

Temptation

Because the moon is a serpent
female form is temptation sent.
Because my heart grows weak
and my passion burns deep.

Because the moon burns bright
I shall embrace temptation tonight.
Because infidelity plays familiar song.
I shall deceive and do wrong.

And some lovers seek grief.
And some lovers seek belief.
And some lovers seek pain.
And some lovers seek fame.

Tonight I'm drinking from poison flask
studying dark girl behind mask.
Infidelity shall tempt every mans hand.
Beware the cruel sinking quicksand.

Aphrodites love child loves to please
has her mirror fantasy games to tease
shall have no morning regret
no accusing regret we met.

And some lovers seek emotion.
And some lovers seek devotion.
And some lovers seek sign.
And some lovers seek rhyme.

Because the moon shall inflame
solo mother will call my name
because my seducer is party host
and temptation is a ghost.

Because the moon glows full
I shall break the golden rule
because I hear infidelity tune
I'll fall asleep within her room.
