Texas Highways Xiii Poem by Armadillo Poet

Texas Highways Xiii

Where are you?
I have walked in the desert

Where are you my love?
I have pictured you on the beach

Where are you love?

With my head buzzing
Against the passenger glass appear
The silhouettes of so many things:

Cattle under the moonlight,
Hummingbirds against the sun,
Bats between the stars

When I wake I feel the shadow of you
Then have to close my eyes to forget
