Thank God I’m Back (2)

I’d sought a time in which to think
Reflecting head in hand
What devil’s brew had I to drink?
Would Jesus understand?

Had I a word with Christ to share?
Would Jesus plead my case?
Would God take time to hear my prayer?
Or would He turn His face?

Thank God for Christ, His Guiding Light
For Jesus’ perfect love
I thank Him for the strength to fight
And for His Holy Dove

At last I’m back, thank God I’m back
My Lord I’ll leave no more
In Him I’ll walk down Heaven’s track
Until I’m through the door

Until life’s crown is truly mine
Until the youngest day
Until I drink with Jesus wine
From God I’ll never stray

Though Satan’s wares are plain to see
Although his fruit are sweet
To God alone I’ll bow my knee
Whilst here at Jesus’ feet

It’s foolish without Christ to die
Now this, I understand
And if the world could see as I
She too would know first hand

She’d buy no more what Satan brings
She’d leave her life of crime
She’d learn the song that Jesus sings
And sing it whilst there’s time
