Thank God Thank God

Almighty arms reached out in love
And blood soaked tortured ground
Thus fulfilling God’s will above
That saving grace be found

How humble was The Father’s Son
How gruesome was His pain
How greatly was the battle won
That man may live again

To live to reign to rule the earth
To live to die no more
To live through Jesus’ second birth
As no one’s lived before

No need to reach up to the sky
Or sail the ocean wide
But through His Son enthroned on high
God plants His love inside

Those mighty arms are held out still
His blood remains the same
According to His Father’s will
We need but call His name

We only need to spare some thought
To take a look within
Accept we each have fallen short
Descending deep in sin

We’ve erred we’ve strayed we cannot see
Our debts we cannot pay
But thanks to God upon The tree
For paving us the way

Thank God for Jesus’ living hell
For mercy, love and grace
And through the truths He had to tell
We’ll live to see His face
