Thank You Poem by Laura Kaufmann

Thank You

You have taught me to break away
from one joy that confines another.
I saw this face, so intruiging.
These eyes with so much meaning,
so much depth.
Just then, my mind caught me,
reminding me what was at stake.
As time briskly went by, these eyes saw me.
This voice seemed to sing to me.
Others don't know that what I am missing
is what I already have.
For a brief moment in time, I flew.
I was needed for a hand to hold in the sky,
through screams and smiles.
I came down to earth and to my suprise,
I was still flying free,
with these precious wings that you've given me.
Thank you.
