Thankful Poem by Lillie B. Crowder

Thankful

Be thankful for this day and last night
And for tomorrow that is sure to come
Within a few hours of darkness and daylight
Yesterdays' choice will forever be none

Look forward to the coming days and nights
With positive thoughts each passing second
Do those things that are meaningful and right
Use yesterdays' mistakes as tomorrows' lesson

In between periods of darkness and daylight
Take time to remove weeds and sow seeds
So that a tree will grow to its greatest height
The environment will benefit indeed

Help a little one, some where some how
Show the big ones, something new
Give care to an animal, it only to a cow
Share your wisdom, it's the natural thing to do

Be thankful for the fresh air and morning sun
For the sky, earth, rain and flowers
Be thankful for what which is yet to come
For not only rain, comes in showers
