Thanks To Jesus Poem by Ugiagbe Okoro

Thanks To Jesus

The billows of sorrow beat upon my heart
And the storms of life threatened from every direction
I was beaten and wounded right from the start
And i wished i could see someone with compassion

But then after so many toils and cares
I saw a light at the end of the tunnel
It came to me and quenched my night mares
I saved me from the shackles of hell

It came from above and mingled with me
It shone so bright through my soul
I was blind before but now i see
And i have a new life and a new goal

There were 365 days in a year
But now there are 365 years in each day
I am reaping the joy of many years
In seconds of time and in every way

I am happy now and i am free
Free from the shackles and the pain
Free from the burdens that laid on me
Thanks to Jesus who sent the rain
