That Beautiful Rose Poem by Oti Egwu

That Beautiful Rose

Baby Mi! Our beautiful rose is set alight.
Yesterday it was our love that got cold;
Striking off our accord of affectionate delight,
For us, this is the end of the road.

Unflattering to me were those scores of scandals,
Then came the dearth compliment of attention,
And your fickle strength of character;
Thus, love became a Man of spiritless passion.

Boo-ga-tti! Be reminded that beauty is not elegance,
But virtues - patience and temperance;
And like me, the world should celebrate you,
Even though our beautiful rose was set alight by you.
