That Dinner Of Reflections Poem by Ridhvi Sharma

That Dinner Of Reflections

At the table, present our favorite dish with fairy lights
Adorned with the grace of dedication so bright
I sat in the chair, opposite the girl I was
A victim of ignorance she once was
The world sought her prosaicness all the times
But she is quaint, murmured the windy chimes.

I urge for the slight and slenderness she holds
But she seeks all the angles and bones that shape my mold
Etched with innocence, she was carved so polite
To destroy her, the world had no right.

Easily swayed by others, she nagged about it to her gut
Her blood oozes out so viscerally with just a slight cut
Her deep and glistening eyes were covered in a smokescreen.
Mine are just slick and shallow as if they are about to scream.
I decided to tell her the act of bringing herself from the brink
I opened my eyes and everything disappeared within a blink.

I woke up after having an unplanned dinner with myself
Or did I witness an elf?
