Tha Is Life
Seven years ago a tower was terrorized and lost its height
Not in Nigeria was it: yet the media saved but the the highlight
Few years later: it was earthquake, hurricane or cold
Not in Nigeria was it; nor a little near her abode
The other day a flood swallowing gulp everything in sight
Not in Nigeria was it; we are but less in fright
Even today other alterations in nature are told
In land, in people: we are blessed as the men of old
Then came the leaders and the religious wars
Our homes they made a hell even in the faces of our laws
Then came the crashes that never spared a head
Contrived by forces not known, painting our country rut red
Then came poverty reducing us: diseases and internal strife
Yet we are blessed, we are cursed- that is life.
