That Night Poem by Tshepo Mkhontwana

That Night

That night we talked.
That night we fought.
There was no one to blame.
But the heart that thought.
Not the stars that shone could brighten her smile.
Not the sun that rose could make her fine.
That night, Her heart sowed in space.
Lost and out of place!
Seeking to find a happy place!
That night, her tears ran down her smooth face!
That night, her tears gave her a new face!
She sat and wondered if she could ever face.
A night like that with her bruised face
