That's Alright Poem by Nim Lee

That's Alright

The drug dealer drives his 4by4 along the road
He drunk as a skunk
But that’s alright
His windows are tinted black and his music goes boom
But that’s alright
He wakes up all the babies
But that’s alright
Yes that’s alright Yes that’s alright Yes that’s alright
He not a minibus
And he got plenty money
So that’s alright.

The Bandits bust into the house at night with cutlass and gun
They pistol whip the old lady
But that’s all right
They steal every little thing they got
Then throw half of it in the trench
But that’s alright
They shoot the old man in the foot
But that’s alright
Yes that’s alright Yes that’s alright Yes that’s alright
They not standing on the pave
By the GT magistrates court
So that’s alright.

A man in our village raped a little girl
He damaged her up inside
But that’s alright
She scared scared scared and her mummy cries
But that’s alright
He got AIDS
But that’s alright
Yes that’s alright Yes that’s alright Yes that’s alright
It was a little girl not a little boy
And he didn’t use a condom
So that’s alright.
