That's Why I Love Thee Poem by Riya Gangwar

That's Why I Love Thee

You continue to be
My secret companion
the friend I need
always there, so discrete,
In that favorite place
In my head
In my secret garden up ahead
With hidden walkways
and little streams
wild foliage where flowers beam
humming birds and fireflies
an almost Van Gogh-esque like dream
When I enter my garden,
My eyes only seek thee,
my heart longs for thee
my soul calls for thee
Sometimes I find you under the bodhi tree
Sometimes I see you on the hillock, looking back at me
Sometimes I find you in the cool little cave
in contemplation....meditation
All I wish to do is sit on the ground
with my head in you lap
listen to you recount, expound,
recite verses from the book of Perfect Poetry
and feel those words resound
And then I want to kiss you lips
to taste the aftermath of this poetry
My being vibrates with longing,
for Him - who I see in your eyes
It's that simple
It's why I love thee.
