That Was The Day Poem by Aamir Abdullah

That Was The Day

POEM: THAT WAS THE DAY
POET: AAMIR ABDULLAH
PUNJAB(PAKISTAN)

That was the day
Pale and dusty
Ceased and paused
Disconnected from the cosmic rhythm
Scattered around its own axis
In its sand dunesI
Lost my kingdom
My meadows, my goats and sheep
My that crook
I searched paths with
Between complex constellations
The supple bodies of celestial nymphs
The cashews, the vine

That was the day
When I was thrown
Away from the throne with in me
Away from the gleam
Of sapphires and the rubies
Glittered I with……..

I am like the mystic's torn clothes
Fluttering away
Between the earth and the skies
Between the seen and the unseen
Between enfolded and the unfolded

I can see now, my reflection
Spitted by a vulture's eye.
