Thatch Bats Poem by Goddo Faggotte

Thatch Bats

Broom-batting gran
Flag of Grass, waving
To shoo the vampire
From the room … heroine

Swat … strike

Tumbling wings … screams
Hissing … terror squeaks
Knots in the Lots of Long Auburn hair
Flapping … shouting panic
Thrashing about … clutching … grabbing
All the while knotting
Sobbing …

Ssshhh …. Sshhh now child!
The soft strong voice
Scissors … snip, snip
Freedom …

… ping … ping … pinging
