The 50% Man Poem by steve king

The 50% Man

the 50% man runs the first half of the track
to applause and cheers from a crowd with his back

the 50% man runs the last half of the track
to anger and jeers from a crowd on his back

the 50% man loses half of the race
but commits to do better and quicken his pace

but the 50% man does not know the race has been rigged
the crowd has moved on and his lover reneged
