The Ache In Me Poem by Sarah Mendly

The Ache In Me

Rating: 5.0

Pride- To look, never to see
Love- To feel, never to me
Lust- To want, to need, to be
Passion- Is all that matters to me.

These are my aches, always my pain
Living for now is what keeps me sane
Why does it hurt? Why does it ache?
'Cause my heart is true and my head is fake!

Never to confront, never to confide
This is my ache, This is my pride.

Always wanting to feel the light from above
This is my ache, This is my love.

Allowing my heart to explode into dust
This is my ache, This is my lust.

Using attraction like it's a new fashion
This is my ache, This is my passion.

Having my pain turn into sorrow
Knowing there is no need to wake for the 'morrow.

Pleasing others, to let me be
Never to look, never to see
Wanting it so bad to be
Never to feel, never to me
Having this grow where no one can see
Never to want, to need, to be
Living for this, for all to see
Never to think: 'It matters to me'.

Why the pain? To strive to keep me sane?
When it seems to happen time and again.

I will end this now and stand by your side
Gone is the ache by swallowing my pride.

And I will feel for you and rise above
Ache till death explodes the love.

And while this feeling consumes my bust
Gone is the ache and here comes the lust.

In with the new, like with the fashion
Out goes the old, but what remains is passion.

And so I have got rid of my demons once and for all
'Cause without the aches, I stand tall.

For he was my pride, never my love, always my lust
But when he was gone, passion remained with the dust
And into the ground my piteous body did fall
For even without the ache I could stand tall.

So I was kidding myself from head to toe
Left buried in the soil with my tales of woe.

And the pain is now ridden whilst growing in me
And all is silent with nothing left to see, nothing left to be
For 'nothing' was always the ache in me.
