The Alarmed Car Poem by Alan Bruce Thompson

The Alarmed Car

Just sitting quietly, then it starts
From the bottom of the wheels, from the middle of its parts.

Did someone shove as they went past?
For that screaming siren should really be smashed.

It has stopped now but the echo is still in my ears
Just waiting till someone engages the gears.

For the car was just lonely, with no driver at the wheel,
Trying to attract attention, trying to provoke a steal.
