The Anchored Angel Poem by Jose Garcia Villa

The Anchored Angel

The anchored angel bows his wings
And waits to hear the strings
Of ultimate blue noon.
His wings—
The thousand seraphs hidden in their veins—
Now fold,
Now unfold,
Their God hands' jewel-flames.
The anchored angel bends his brow
And waits to feel the glow
Of infinite blue noon.

The anchored angel lifts his head
He clasps the world's gold
To his unheeding breast;
He clasps,
And his white feathers are their sands,
And each his strands.
The anchored angel flings his wings,
His music is released—
And all the jewels of the world's soul sing,
And all the jewels of the world's soul sing!
