The Anointing Song Poem by Jimmy L. Lyons

The Anointing Song

This is my story; this is my song -
been going through a lot my whole life long.
I just want Jesus to set me free -
I know He's here right now with me.

I've been praying and fasting all my life
through pain that cuts me like a knife;
I've been in the storm for too, too long,
and I'm ready to sing my anointing song

I'm hoping this will be my season,
and I'm feeling Jesus is the reason.
I feel love and laughter I can't explain,
but I know God's helping them ease my pain.

I'll sing my anointing song to the Lord,
who promises us afterlife's reward.
Despite this life that seems so cold,
God refuses to let me sell my soul.

I'll sing my anointing song to God
whose love for us is deep and broad.
I never want to be doubting or guessing;
but thanking my Lord for my many blessings.

Let go, let God and be blessed.
