The Art Of Letting Go Poem by Asim Baadshah

The Art Of Letting Go

I tried to free you from my soul,
Undo the pages, burn them whole.
Yet every breeze that wanders free,
Still softly calls your name to me.

I packed the past in quiet sighs,
Buried the echoes, dimmed the cries.
But memories climb like wild vines,
No matter how I cut the lines.

The sky has changed, the years move on,
Yet some farewells are never gone.
To let you go is not to lose,
But keep love hidden, out of use.

Hearts don't heal by walking away,
They learn to live with what must stay.
And so, though distance keeps us wide,
You still remain somewhere inside.

The nights grow old, the stars still gleam,
Like faded fragments of a dream.
Though time may steal the words we knew,
It cannot steal my heart from you.

I learned that love does not depart,
It leaves its shadow on the heart.
And even when the world moves through,
My silent soul still clings to you.
