Oh, the art of waiting—
I waited for you till my skin peeled from my bones,
Till my blood flowed freely into the sea,
Becoming one with the tide, lost in eternity.
I have witnessed countless sunrises and sunsets,
Felt the chaos of people dancing near the shore,
Heard their laughter echo through the waves—
But none of it mattered anymore.
I've seen the sky painted in enchanting hues,
Yet none could rival the color of your eyes.
I've listened to the songs of birds soaring high,
But none could match the melody of your sighs.
I waited—just to see your face.
Seconds slipped into minutes,
Minutes blurred into hours,
Hours melted into days,
Days drifted into weeks,
Weeks faded into months,
And months into silent, unending years.
Now, I've lost count.
Time has become a ghost,
And slowly, yet deliberately,
My skin has parted from my bones.
Only a hollow skeleton remains—
Still hoping. Still dreaming.
I wonder…
Will you arrive once I'm gone?
And if you don't—
Don't tell me that.
Let me dwell in my sweet delusion.
Let me believe you came—
Even if it was too late.
