The Artist - Poem by Royal L. Craig
I want to paint Your picture,
Perhaps like this,
The shimmering stillness of the desert,
Or a mountain peak brushed by snow
And kissed by cloud,
The relentless wind of the Arctic night,
A mighty river with plunging falls,
An ant in an empire of scorching sand.
All this and more I want to paint of You,
But as I lift the brush and look,
What I see is You painting me, Painting You!
