The Assassin Poem by Matt Burgett

The Assassin

Rating: 4.0

Slow motion starts us out
Following a round destine to
Kill not just a bodyguard
But another target too

Months and months of time
It takes to devise a plan
To Take out not just one
But also another man

The purpose he possesses
Is more personal than you know
To dig back till they were kids
Is as far as you need to go

There is something about the targets
That If you only knew why
You would understand
Just why they have to die

And from a hiding place so perfect
They would have nothing of were to say
From were the assassin killed two men
And then just got away

So I leave this up to you
And since he got away
If you push it yourself
You'll be the target someday
