The Bailiffs Of Parity Poem by Leon Moon

The Bailiffs Of Parity

truth is not to change the fact
but to extract the path
striking truth exact.

my name floats above me
like an unheard tune.

the note as note
but not as stone
since melody lies in the same bed
as memory

their bodies decay at the same rate
in the same way.
the only thing different is the sweet smell
they impose on me.

the devil finds heaven in all things.
god never seeks hell.
a necessary limitation,
the bedrock of salvation.

we watch the countdown through our
fingertips
whenever we please.
The beauty of eternal luxury are its vows to
sleep.

from the formless
we have learnt not to need

and I have earned the right
not to speak.
