The Ballad Of Cowboy Bob Poem by David Burton Richardson

The Ballad Of Cowboy Bob

Oh Daughter weep oer Mothers plight
Another day another fight
The Table set and i must go
Toward that goal and Golden glow
For i must fight that phantom Foe
And to me its just another job
And this is the story of Cowboy Bob
Wide brims oe lustre Felt
And Blackened Eyes so Black we cannot see
My Demons dark and dismal within this land
And fading fake is within my Hand
Darkest time does pass us by
And Masks of sorrow hide my pain
And cool and Blood like pumping thrill
Is all i have of this bitter Pill
But luck will end and my Demons be
My Eyes so blind i cannot see
My weary Soul, my beaten Brow
And dismal dark of darkest Soot
Bears on me like Eagles rage
And Talons slash and razor cut
My Mind is crushed within that Cage
My firestone fear will take a bow
And to me its just another job
And this is the story of Cowboy Bob
Standing proud with God like Hand
And darkest Demons think aloud
The time has come to wish me dead
And so for now i bid farewell
My life of fear and bitter Hell
And time will go but histories last
To leave this Life and become the past
And to me its just another job
And this is the story of Cowboy Bob
Time will seal for all to tell
Of plunderous plight and tragic fall
And to me its just another job
This life and death of shallow Grave
And so begins the dark Black sleep
And the legend of Cowboy Bob.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Cowboy Bob was a notorious Bank Robber in America. Dressed in dark Glasses, false Beard and large Felt Hat, Police were looking for him for years. Cowboy Bob turned out to be a 60 year old Grandmother, a very kind lady who carried a toy Pistol so that she didnt hurt anyone during the robberies. When she was finally cornered at her Trailer, she pointed the toy Pistol towards the Police and she was shot dead. Even the Police were very sad about her death.
