The Barren Wastland Poem by Jacques Du Plessis

The Barren Wastland

Love is like a barren wastland
burned light brown and tanned
with my branches weak and brittle
wishing it would rain a little! ! !

A visit from the Water Goddes -
the fairest and the moddest -
was a miricale to this barren wastland
blessing it with rain and life.
For the first time my branches tasted rain
clensing my soul and releving my pain.

The wastland floriched with life and green
also did my feelings for the Water queen
but it was not meant to last,
I lost her in time to past
losing everything near to my heart.

Love is like a barren wastland
burned light brown and tanned
using all my strengh from inside
and out
trying to find my long last sweet heart
walking through sand and snow
finally finding the queen of my past
sleeping peacefully next to my heart.
