The Beauty In The Pain Poem by The Anxious Darwinian

The Beauty In The Pain

Rating: 5.0

there's beauty in the pain

in the storm before the calm
and every word speared your way.
the burning nostalgia
that once burdened your heart
soon to be a vacuous space.

there's beauty in the pain you've grown through,
like shards of glass reflecting light,
and icy wind weaving wreaths of smoke,
the ugliness of truth reaps sight,
and the sweetness of crack upon cracked lips
that once sought to destroy
gives impetus to rise.

there's beauty in the exit's pain,
when dawn diffuses into dark;
'No's' become cause for hope.
acid reigns over thought drowning regret,
and the burning embers finally dwindle to a spark in the grey.

that which once shone like gold,
now immortalised in dust.
