The Beauty Of Flowering Poem by Emeka GOC

The Beauty Of Flowering

The Beauty of Flowering

In the hush before morning colours,
The world waited the cradle of green longing for a spark.
Then cock crows and petals broke the silence of soft as dawn,
Bold as creation learning its own name.

This was before the ancient, patient, unchanging bloom,
The world was a kingdom of cones and spines,
Roots whispered upward, light answered,
And the earth became a tapestry of wanting.

But deep in the shadows, a new idea stirred
A seed dreaming of colours.
Insects found their purpose, winds carried new stories,
And time itself bent toward beauty.

It rose, and with it came fragrance, fruit,
And the wild partnership of pollinators.
The Forests shifted, climates softened,
And life rewrote its own script in petals.

We thought the world was finished
until the flowers arrived quiet revolutions
In varied beauty; red, gold, and impossible blue.
So began the flowering not an age,
But a promise, that life would always find a way to bloom.

They taught us that change doesn't shout;
It opens ways, the moment the planet chose to become beautiful.
Ala, the earth, is the endowment of life and beauty
This was my beauty, observe a flowering beauty

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
'The Beauty of Flowering' by Emeka GOC Ogaraku is a lyrical, philosophical exploration of angiosperm evolution. It blends macro-history with an intimate, spiritual celebration of the natural world. The poem tracks the Earth's transition from a rigid, monochromatic landscape to a vibrant, interconnected ecosystem. It frames scientific evolution not as a series of random accidents, but as a deliberate, poetic awakening. The poem successfully elevates a textbook botanical milestone into a grand creation myth. Written in fluid free verse, its lack of a rigid rhyme scheme mirrors the wild, unpredictable, and adaptive path of evolution itself.
