The Beggar's Eyes Poem by Joan Hart

The Beggar's Eyes

Rating: 5.0

You are empty
and hungry,
starving.
Your eyes are pleading,
a beggar’s eyes -
desperate.
I try to fill you
I pour pieces of myself
into you
but
it's never enough.
You are a bottomless pit -
I fear you will never be whole
again.
