The Beginning Poem by Gordon Serpis

The Beginning

And I will always remember
How strong winds shake the snow clad branches of December
but no matter how long they blow
they could not wisp away the feelings for you
I felt the windy day and I will always remember

I was walking through the park one day
And it was as cold as temptress's heart
But as I rounded the corner I stopped with a start
For never in my days
Had I come to suspect my true love
Would appear before me in this way.

From the moment I saw her I knew her golden locks
Had my heart under lock and key.
And cool blue eyes said that she would be faithful to me
And that was the day
That cold December day
that love came to me
and I will always remember.
