The Bible-- the Divinely inspired word;
Inspite of dungeon, fire and sword
Men did go against all odds
To bring your truth far and beyond
The acrid and rusty smell of your pages
Sends the wandering sinner back into the ages
Into a solemn temporary retreat
Yielding sin's dark passions to a permanent defeat
What other map do I know?
Aside this book whose pages glow
In you are tons of grace
That'd keep me running in this race
That I may not slack
And carelessly lose track
You guide and direct my deed
Thou indeed art a lamp unto my feet
In you I find hope amidst despair
Whenever I am laden with a load of care;
In you are words of prophecies
In you I find perfect peace
You take us back in the wheel of time
Teaching us do's and don'ts, law and crime
Bathing our minds in great histories
Softening the influence of present worries
Blessed information, bringing life eternal
Luring it's readers into the supernatural
Most precious jewel and treasure
Thy value can no mortal measure
Tried in the fire times seven;
Thou art a safe haven!
