The Birth Of A Rose - Poem by Mary Polachek

As the bud begines to bloom beneath
the melting snow.
A reminder of spring comes into mind,
Natures way will allow it to grow...
The stem will be fed by soil, protein
to produce its roots.
Natures way of mothering, as to a child
meant to sooth...
The sun will provide energy, as all life
lives through thus;
The plant is waiting patiently to
Blossom without fuss...
Let us draw near, and watch the
simple art of life;
In nature all around us that brings us
joy, not strife...
As the bud grows on to blossom
from the melted snow;
We come to realize among all
nature...the birth of the rose..
