The Birth Of Love Poem by Ina Coolbrith

The Birth Of Love

God made the world and found it ‘good'.
An Angel Him beside
Wept softly, and, to question, said
‘For what Thou hast denied.'

‘And that? ' God asked him tenderly,
‘What is the lack thereof? '
‘Its Soul'- the Angle made reply
And God created Love.
