The Black Kings' Doctrine Poem by Shar Thompson

The Black Kings' Doctrine

Rating: 5.0

Kings, I am your image, your movements in dark shadows, your reflection in shallow waters, In the tears of your abandoned daughters, I am you.

Kings, I am your end before your life begun, endangered species through loaded guns, the agony of your orphaned sons, I am you.

Kings, I am the pain of your swindled crowns, your stolen grace, your blood-soaked thrones, your crypt built up, on un-holy grounds, I am you.

Kings, I am discontentment running through your vain, the genocide of your royal African name, your former and future reign, I am you.

Kings, I am the memory of your majestic being, your magnificent and perfect gene, the conquering lion who reigned supreme, I am you.

Kings, I am the gnawing on your sobering spirits
your restless ancestors revisit, the return of reparation due explicit, I am you.

Kings, I am the antithesis of menial endeavors, black excellence beyond measure, I personify Wakanda, African love forever, I am you.

Kings, I am your cerebral meditation, the rejection of occupied occupation, your displacement and miseducation, I am you.

Kings, I am the reason you cease to concede, why you're caged behind walls and live within crumbling concrete, your mourning through tribal, celestial beats, I am you.

Kings, I am the bruises from your enraged fist, the thrust of your knife, piercing my chest, your assassin bullets that stole my breath, I am you.

Kings, I am your wounded soldiers' cries, your weapon aimed between my eyes, the graves your dishonored warriors lies, I am you.

Kings, I am the remains of your kingdoms shattered, the remnants of black tribes scattered, the affirmation that black lives once mattered, I am you!

Kings, I am your absent legacy foregone, the slaughter of your unborn black unicorn, your journey derailed marathon, I am you

Kings, I am Malcolm, Tupac, Biggie and Nipsey, the dying truth and the living hypocrisy, Kings killing Kings, old doctrine or new philosophy, AND I am YOU
