The Blameless Poem by Frank DeFulgentis

The Blameless

melting all around me
in the flat sun
i feel the trembling
surrounding
clouds forming
outside
in the blue
but floating
like lava
like the moon
the cool air
beside me

on the day that
summer met fall
the suspended
impulse
built to a climax
the incoming kiss
hung in the air
construing
our pressing
lips moving
her raging
hormones
brewing

wound up
in the soft pink
i feel the pull
this girl's
appetite is full
i can taste her
heavy breath
as she gets
what she wants
her curious mind
her pants down
random moves
into and around
causing sounds

the ripping thunder
kept rolling
like the evening
breeze
through the window
against my skin
underneath
those closed-eye
kisses
she takes it all in

i knew that we would
she told me i could
she is too cool
kicking
back in the
supersunshine
thick rays
corona with a lime
she does not consent
to public sentiment
of any kind
and ofcourse
i don't mind

i don't feel
used and abused
but rather amused
at her indifferent wit
she said she wanted
some and meant it
it's a war out there
i will admit

they found
prince charming dead
shot in the head
under a blameless sky
the world
passing him by
all swallowed up in stress
no heart left to confess
who are the blameless?
what are their names?
