The Blind - Poem by Manoj Srinivas Gopalakrishna

Day and Night which is right
How does it matter to a person without sight
I am helpless at night without light
To the blind it's perfectly alright
A small change in my perception and i lose my might
Everything around me is the same no need to be uptight
I lose my senses and balance with loss of sight
I am ashamed seeing the blind always alert and upright
Who is handicapped me or the blind
Wakeup and Learn to be humble and kind

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I wrote this day before yesterday when there was a power shutdown for 31 hours straight, i was distraught, restless, frustrated and to top it, it was summer and burning hot.
