The Bridge Of Perfect Love Poem by Mary Champion

The Bridge Of Perfect Love

When darkness falls I sometimes cross
the Bridge of Perfect Love
and there, at last, we meet to share
the pleasures we dream of.
Your gentle fingers brush my skin
and set the fire alight
and so I melt into the arms
of my star-spangled knight.

Your lips touch mine
your warm embrace casts out all doubt and fear,
there is no time
eternity has made our future clear.

Oh enter in, my sweetest Knight
into that realm you crave.
Die in the Grail, you cannot fail
to rise from this warm grave.

When darkness falls I long to cross
the bridge of Perfect Love
and there, at last, to meet and share
The pleasures we dream of.

To lie with you
and quench the need that complements my own.
Our love is true
the time is past when we must dream alone.

So meet me there, my moonlit Knight,
upon the bridge that spans
the cruel gap that parts us now,
and lead me in love's dance.

Lay your head upon my breast
and let me hear your heart
that beats for me and speaks to me
of lovers torn apart.
But safe, upon the Bridge of Love
our union is blessed.
I'll take you into Paradise
where you shall take your rest.
And as the embers burst to flame
I'll share your ecstasy.
My own pure Knight,
the time is right,
surrender now to me.
