The Brihadeshwara Temple Poem by J Sheba Anandhi

The Brihadeshwara Temple

A majestic place in Tanjore
Is a temple which many people adore,
It was a place of my dreams,
I have heard that with the fall of sunbeams
On the main temple, the shadow
Falls on the structure itself and never bows low,
The Brihadeshwara temple was built by Raja Raja Chola,
To express my wonder I don't find a suitable copula,
Today's visit extended to Serfoji's Sarasvati Mahal,
The palace was grand and the view did enthrall,
I can still manifestly picture the brilliant work of art,
The magnum opus of the Cholas made an impact in my heart.
