The Brink Of Sanity Poem by Lauren Harper

The Brink Of Sanity

Solemn eyes realize what has been seen.
A hardened heart knows what was once a mystery.
Now all that is clear,
You long not but for it all to just a complex nightmare.
A senseless nightmare of a dream.
Yet inside you know it is reality.
Hard, cold tough reality, as far as the mind can think.
Just maybe we can hide behind make believe,
To salvage any shred of sanity before we reach the brink.
