The caress doesn't lie
(Arifa Shahzad)
As he blows the sands of the Thall
the grains get stuck on the lips
The tongue keeps on spitting
the bitterness of its taste
and he,
who knows how to break open
the locks of the sealed lips
cannot put the sixth sense
under a lock
He doesn't know
When the sealed lips are touched
then not only the tongue, but the heart too
refuses to say anything
as well as the one, who
seeing the smoke rising up the chimneys
of the days and the nights
tries to put out the fire;
who cannot see the contours
being burnt down;
cannot feel the delicacy
of the lips being reduced to ashes
And you,
who can turn a puddle into an ocean
just with a single touch;
who can capture the whizzing wind
in the finger-tips;
who can send the colorful revelation
on a heart
Your lips can turn into
a silken reality
even in a dream!
