The Chinese New Year Poem by Jasmine James

The Chinese New Year

The lanterns hung
The people dancing happily
as good luck rushes through
the door everyone smiles
knowing that a new year has begun
they no longer have to deal with
the bad luck the dragons flying
the evil spirits scared away
by the light of the lanterns
and the loud beat of drums
what could possibly be the reason this
is happening?
well of course it's the New year.
