The Closed Door Poem by Nick Levesque

The Closed Door

Rating: 5.0

All the promises that you shattered,
Pieces of my heart lay scattered,
Amongst the cold damp floor,
Facing a now closed door.

The key remains unfound,
For I do not make a sound,
As the blue sky disappears,
Leaving me with only tears.

Memories shall forever remain,
As Though I feel unwilling pain,
Leaving me with dark skies,
Only to hear my heartfelt cries.

Hope whispers within the distance,
For I no longer desire your existence,
I stand strong on my own,
Now that I realize what I should have known.

The key now lies in my hand,
For now I truly understand,
This experience was a life lesson learned,
And a growth forever earned.

The Light that was lost now seemed to have spoken,
The heart that was torn is no longer broken,
As I open the door to a brand new chapter,
To realize what it is I am truly after.
