The Color Of My Energy Poem by Erwick Brandon

The Color Of My Energy

What's it like to drown?
To sink to the bottom with nobody around?
I'm going down, wearing a permanent frown.
What's a smile? Tell me cause it's been a while.
With no life line to dial, it's like being on trial with no defense.
Sitting on this fence, wondering which side makes more sense.
Can you help me? I'm begging, will you fix me?
You're the only thing I have on my mind.
Every time I close my eyes, it you and I.
Never wanna say goodbye.
Every time we do, a piece of me dies.
But I'll never give up, I'll always try.
This will never end until you're by my side.
You're my world, the perfect girl. My beautiful pearl.
'Don't you forget about me.'
Honestly, you're part of me. Could never be wrong for me.
Without a doubt, undoubtably, the only one for me.
You're perfect from head to toe, and I need you to know,
that in my heart, you'll always have a home.
I'm yours inside and out.
Mind and soul, without you I'm just not whole.
Without you it's never warm it's always cold.
Until I hear from you again, this will have to do.
Read into my every word, this is the truth, it's all for you.
So don't feel sad, bad or mad. Know that I think of you with every thought that I have.
With every drop of rain that falls, I hear your name.
Your beautiful name.
To know you feel the same keeps me sane.
So bring on the pain if need be.
I can take on anything as long as you're with me.
You're my favorite color,
the color of my energy.
