The Coming Of Summer Poem by Tammy Nicholls

The Coming Of Summer

The morning Sun prepares to rise
The moon is now asleep
The last of springs cooling touch
Are memories we now keep

A lizard crawls from beneath a rock
To catch the morning rays
The sun is now high above
I welcome the summer days

Gone are the blooms from spring for now
They will return I'm sure
So for now the warmth is here
No cold nights to endure

A summer breeze warms the soul
An endless starry night
A Crystal lake still as stone
All under the brilliant moonlight

The crickets sing from dusk to dawn
The summer times finally here
Goodbye autumn, winter and spring
I'll see you all next year
