The Consequence Of Intelligence Poem by Derrick Andrews

The Consequence Of Intelligence

Alone; Frightened,
My heart cries for repair,
My hope, brightened,
Only to be split like a hair,
Toil and turmoil,
All for not,
Life, spent on the soil,
Then left there, to rot,
Life is not meant,
To be spent,
Controlled,
My will has been bent,
Over rent,
Sold,
Alone; frightened,
My heart cries for repair,
I have been 'enlightened',
Now I wallow in despair.
