The Consequence Speaks Poem by Mei KML

The Consequence Speaks

A face behind the veil,
Ever so subtle,
Ever so imminent.
Her stare devoured the hearts of anyone who look,
And seized them in its grasp.
Though always a smile plastered on her face
Said nothing of happiness.

She sighed and her eyes roamed,
Ever so piercing,
Ever so crude.
Pinning down her potential mate
With her lies she lured.
She looked to kill and she spoke to kill.
Innocent.
Yet fatal.

With the stare of a prey,
Ready to pounce,
Ready to win.
Her silent cry of war
Sent the shivers down his spine.
Advancing ever so slowly,
In time to bring him down.

But, but and but,

You appeared in the corner of her eye,
The thorn in her heart was unbearable.
She screamed and yelled at you.
But the halo was stuck on you.
The man she loved turned his back,
Leaving the prey with teeth drawn back.
Ever so desperate,
Ever so forlorn.

As you embraced her predator,
All glory left
What used to be hers.
She cried and withered in silence.
Ever so helpless,
Ever so bitter.

Maybe that is what we called
The consequence of your act.
