THE COUNTDOWN-29
One day more
My journey here
Started years before
Will come to a closure
No regrets
For what I failed to accomplish
No looking back
For what I could not achieve
But I will badly miss the people
Who made my journey so beautiful
I will lose my work
Lose my identity
No matter
I can always find a new opening
What pinches me hard is what
I am going to lose
The pride of being a Government servant
The ambience, the atmosphere
My brothers and sisters
My sons and daughters with whom
I shared my life, love and frustration
Smiles and tears over the years
Know not
How life will be
But without my colleagues
Life will be incomplete
Incomplete will be my dreams and dramas, happiness and sorrow
Pain and pleasure
The endurer knows how it feels
Moving away from the shade
Of the big banyan tree
That nourished and
Gave you all that you needed.
With time not in your side
Senses not in their sense
How agonising is it to encounter
The mid-day sun, winter shower
And gusty wind once again?
