The Crow And A Vagabond Poem by Sudip Das

The Crow And A Vagabond

Rating: 5.0

Vagabond like me, you find everywhere in Bangladesh
I have nothing to do, except punk thought and restless
And now I found a crow in the street, -
O crow, do you know the definition of revolution?
Crow replied- did you get enough death tolls?
Any civil war started? I have no answer, only the punk thought remains.

O crow, do you know, how the independence recognized
- Very simple, did it recognized by United nations
- Or any foreign country has given clearance
How did you think?

The hostile wind stopped roaring, restless leaves became calm
The crow flew out. He was not a vagabond like me.
He had a lot of work to do-
Nest building, collection of food.

And a vagabond like me holed in a new reality
Reality of killing anybody, in any time, in any place
Reality of burning or destroying anything, any time, in any place
Reality of looting everything from anybody.

Questions and more questions…' how the independence recognized'? What is "independence "? The liberty to die? OR to kill, rape, loot? Profound writing, dear poet.
